1970's Zuni Indian. Turquoise coral shell set in sterling silver Conchos depicting stylized parrots 3'' dia signed Lee & Mary. Total weight 620 grams excluding 1'' x 34'' leather belt
This Lee and Mary belt was purchased from Manny Goodman at the Covered Wagon in Albuquerque, NM. It was close to noon lunch time and Manny didn't want the belt lying around much longer because it was Anne's belt and he wanted it gone before she came in. No sooner had he said those words when the four of us were breathing the same air. Manny made an attempt at introductions but Anne was busy shooting bullets via her eyeballs at Manny. When I gave this to Mark for auction "are you sure?" is all I remember him asking me every so often. I have worn this three times. I could say that Lee and Mary were witnesses, along with a couple of other people, when Jack and I were married. Those will remain my memories and I can only hope this brings as much pride and happiness to the new owner/owners.
